New E Series EQ & Dynamics Modules Reproduce the Legendary Sound of the Classic SSL 4000 E Console
The E Series EQ Module features two different EQÕs found on editions of the console produced between 1979 and 1987. Each EQ has unique response curves and tonal character. They are distinguished by the colors used on the LF knob caps so the two flavours have become known as the ÔBrownÕ and ÔBlackÕ EQÕs. On the E Series EQ Module you can switch between these two different flavors of EQ that have been loved by generations of professional producers.
E Series EQ key features:

The ÔBrownÕ EQ featured on the original SSL E-Signature Channel Strip is now uniquely available on the E Series EQ Module.
The ÊE Series Dynamics Module features a compressor/limiter and an expander/gate, both of which return faithfully to the circuitry and key components which define the sound of the original SL 611E Series channel strip. A true RMS converter is used in the side chain while the gain element is an all discrete design identical to the Class A VCA chip used in the original unit. The compressor contains additional switching options to defeat the over-easy curve and to use a linear release instead of the more usual logarithmic curve. The result is a compressor with three distinct voices, each with its own musical character.

The Solid State Logic Input module for the XRack is designed to handle the varied input needs of the project studio. Made using the same SuperAnalogue circuitry from the XL9000K console, the XRack Input module contains;
- SuperAnalogue Mic pre, with 75dB of gain
- Variable impedance control
- Phantom power and phase reverse
- Line input with separate level control
- Front-panel Instrument input
- High- and Low-pass filters
- XRack Bus output for integration with future modules.

Many producers and engineers have a " lunchbox " made of old EQ modules removed from SSL consoles. Some would even say that an SSL EQ is an indispensable tool for them to mix. The Solid State Logic EQ module brings the legendary SSL twin-curve E and G series EQ module from our large-format consoles into an affordable package in combination with the XRack.
- 4-band parametric EQ with variable " Q " on the mid bands
- S helf/bell control on the High and Low bands.
- Switchable E or G series circuits
The 2 new modules integrate fully with the XRack, giving Total Recall T of all pots and switches. This can either be recalled from the XRack ' s internal memory, 9-pin from a console such as the AWS900, or via your choice of sequencer.

Xlogic Channel
The XLogic Channel features identical DC-coupled SuperAnalogue processing to the legendary XL 9000 K Series console from which it is derived. This provides a bandwidth greater than 192 kHz recorders and a dynamic range well beyond that of 24 bit A/D converters. This makes it the perfect accompaniment to any high quality recording
equipment.
Features include:
- SuperAnalogue Pre-amplifier with mic, line or instrument inputs, and switched gain for easy reset
- Twin-Curve Dynamics, selectable RMS or peak sensing for subtle to dramatic compression, including soft distortion at extreme settings
- High and Low Pass Filters, with routing into the dynamics sidechain, allowing frequency-dependent gating

Xlogic Multichannel Compressor
The XLogic Multichannel Compressor unit is a 2U rack-mounting six-channel compressor. It utilises classic SSL centre compressor design elements within a SuperAnalogue design topology. This brings the dual benefits of spectacular surround audio performance
with a ubiversally acclaimed compressor characteristic.
To cope with the more complex challenge of 5.1 compression, the unit features several unique and powerful features:
Separate S-channel and LFE channel compression controls allowing separate treatment of LFE signals that typically require different attack and release characteristics.
Circular 'Max' display shows which channel is contributing the most to the side chain giving a
clear, instantaneous indication of which channel is driving the compressor.
XLogic 4-Channel Mic Amp
The XLogic Mic Amp provides four of the legendary XL 9000 K Series SuperPre Microphone Pre-amplifiers in a lu rack mounted unit, with optional remote control. Designed to work stand-alone, remote controlled or directly from a suitably configured SSL XL9000 console, the XLogic SuperPre puts the acclaimed quality of these world-renowned Mic Amps right next to the source to be captured.
XLogic G series Stereo Compressor
The XLogic G Series Compressor unit is a 1U rack mounting stereo compressor. It utilises the classic ssL G Series centre compressor design elements within a superAnalogue design topology. This brings the dual benefits of spectacular audio performance with a universally acclaimed compressor characteristic.
The SL 4000 console was the first console to incorporate dynamics processing in every channel and a master compressor in the console centre section.
The ability to 'patch' into the SL4000's centre compressor, and also control its sidechain from an internal sub-mix, allowed engineers to discover the amazingly unique qualities of this compressor for use on instruments like piano and drums, as well as its classic mix finalising capabilities. This versatility created the demand for a rack mount equivalent and a legendary piece of outboard gear was born.
The XLogic G Series Compressor is the latest version of the compressor land it uses the same classic twin V CA design as its console counterpart.
Combined with improved input and output circuitry, this new unit provides improved audio performance, while retaining the dynamics characteristics that have provided numerous hit mixes for the world'& best audio engineers.
